Sorry I’ve been MIA! Work and life have been crazy! I spent 5 days in LA last week for work so I thought I’d give you a little recap of all of the design related stories from my trip…good and bad. Let’s start with one of my favorite hotels, The Chamberlain West Hollywood.
Stayed a fabulous two nights at The Chamberlain. I go to LA quite often and stay here a majority of the time. It’s quiet and cozy, centrally located and I love the large rooms, the pool, the service, and the gorgeous lobby pictured above. But…during this…Do you ever have things in your home that are just placeholders? Pieces that work for the time being but you know you’ll replace eventually? If you could furnish your home entirely out of one place what would it be?
For me it would beABC Carpet & Home hands down. The store is insanely huge and has everything you could possibly need to furnish your home. I love their mix of products which runs the gamut from fine European antiques to mid century modern to Philippe Starck modern to Asian antiques, the list goes on. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with the wall behind my sofa for a while now. When I first started decorating my apartment, I wanted to create a Vicente Wolf-esque environment, almost gallery like, with picture ledges displaying black and white photographs all over the place. So I bought a picture ledge from West Elm and tried a number of different arrangements of photos before settling on what you see above and soon realizing that I didn’t really love the whole picture ledge look as much as I thought I would (at least not in my apartment.) …
