Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I started So Haute and I’m amazed at how quickly my little blog has grown. I’m so grateful for all of my readers and I’m also thankful for my fellow bloggers who support So Haute and constantly keep me inspired with their own creativity. One of the best vacations I’ve ever taken was a couple of years ago when my sister and I took a week long trip to Mexico which included a visit to Los Dos, a lovely cooking school in Mèrida with classes that focuses on traditional Yucatecan cuisine. The school is run by Chef David Sterling and his partner Keith Heitke, former New Yorkers who traded in the big city for the historic charm of Mérida, the capital of the Yucatán. Hi Everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA for the past couple of weeks. I was unexpectedly overwhelmed by some of those occasional curve balls that life throws at you so I took a much needed break to deal with it all. One of those curve balls was the dreaded death of my laptop! I swear I go through a new laptop every two years and after a series of bad luck with PC’s I’ve finally switched to a Mac. I’ve been blogging for a while about re-decorating my bedroom and although it’s been a slow process, things are finally coming together. My headboard arrived over the weekend and it looks fantastic! I’m so excited so I thought I’d post this little sneak peek photo so you all could see the work in progress. I’ll share more photos when the room is a bit more complete. This weekend I’m off to the Hamptons for Super Saturday! In case you’re not familiar, Super Saturday is an annual fundraiser for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund that includes a ton of fun activities for the family but by far the highlight and the element that draws people to the event each year is the Super Saturday Designer Garage Sale where more than 200 top designers sell their goods at a deep discount to shoppers who pay a pretty penny to be there and all of the proceeds are used to fund the charity’s ovarian cancer research programs.
