Twins Room Makeover 9

Meet Noah and Noemi. These four-year-old twin cuties are my brother’s kids and two of my favorite little people on the planet. I recently redecorated their room, transforming their old nursery into a colorful and fun big kid space. Previously, they were still sleeping in toddler crib beds and now that they’re officially big kids, it was time for Auntie Nicole to come to the rescue! With the help of my sister-in-law, we embarked on a budget-friendly makeover that I’m so excited to share with you! First, let’s take a look at what the room looked like before….

Earlier this year I finished up the redecoration of a condo on the Upper West Side for the most adorable young family ever and I’m excited to share some before and afters from the project with you here! The clients purchased their condo a few years prior to us working together but never managed to make it feel like a home. They wanted a new look for their apartment that felt more polished  and grown up. The priorities were the combined living/dining room followed by the master bedroom and eventually, the kids room (more on that in a future post). …

Windsor Smith for Arteriors 6

I’ve been a longtime admirer of designer Windsor Smith’s work so when I heard she was developing a line of lighting in collaboration with Arteriors, I knew I’d love it! The new collection features an assortment of furniture, lighting and decorative accessories that showcase Windsor’s brilliant ability to mix modern and traditional aesthetics. Much of the collection was influenced by classical elements of Greek and Roman design and features a variety of materials and finishes including quartz crystal, marble, resin, antique brass and vintage silver. The collection is available online and through Arteriors showrooms in Los Angeles and Dallas. …

Just wanted to drop a quick note to share that this is the last week to visit the 2015 Kips Bay Decorator Show House which officially ends this Thursday, June 11. I’ve already posted about a few of the standout spaces from Tilton Fenwick, Mark D. Sikes, Alessandra Branca and Philip Mitchell Design but I wanted to share a final roundup of a few more of my favorite moments from the show house. There was so much inspiration abound!

The two photos above are of the gentleman’s study designed by Thom Filicia. It’s a multi-functional space that …

Before & After - A Stylish & Sophisticated Playroom designed by Nicole Gibbons

A lot of my clients are young families with small children so I get to work on a lot of kids spaces and it’s always so much fun! This folks, is what I have dubbed, “The Coolest Playroom In Brooklyn.” It’s a space I designed for my clients in Brooklyn last year and it truly is the go-to spot for neighborhood play dates. I wanted to dedicate a post to revealing this space and walking you through the design process while also sharing some great tips on creating the perfect, kid-friendly play space. I also included some before and afters …

Nicole Gibbons Studio Laundry Room Cole and Son

Doing laundry is usually one of the last things we’d want to do if we had the choice. But unfortunately it’s a necessity so why not make the chore a little less tedious by injecting a bit of whimsy into your laundry room with a fun wallpaper! Above is the laundry room from the Brooklyn brownstone design project I completed a while back. We covered its walls in the ever-popular Woods & Pears paper from Cole & Son which totally lifts up this utilitarian space and gives it a ton of personality. And doesn’t the sunlight beaming down from the …
