12_CR Laine So Haute

Attending High Point Market created wonderful opportunities for me to get an introduction to some pretty awesome brands that I previously wasn’t all that familiar with and one of those awesome brands is CR Laine…a family owned, North Carolina based company specializing in stylish, comfortable and colorful upholstery.  I was aware of CR Laine but since they don’t have a New York showroom, I’d never really had an opportunity to see their products in person and I was blown away by all of their showroom. It was full of beautiful furniture in classic silhouettes made fresh with vibrant colors …

44-Celerie Kemble Henredon Maitland

A common question that kept popping up during  High Point Market was “what collections have you seen that you’re most excited about?” For me and for just about everyone I talked to, designer Celerie Kemble’s new collections for sister companies Henredon and Maitland-Smith were the hot answer. Arguably the most buzzed about collections at High Point, Kemble’s coordinating lines of furniture for Henredon and lighting and accessories for Maitland-Smith reflect her signature mix of new traditional glamour meets Palm Beach chic and packs some serious style.

I caught up with Celerie at the Henredon showroom and was kind enough to …

Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair

At the end of April I headed to High Point, North Carolina, also known as America’s furniture capital, to attend the biannual High Point Market which is a trade show showcasing the best in home furnishings. I always pop into the Hickory Chair / Pearson showroom to see what’s new when I’m in the NYDC building, but in terms of size and the scope of furnishings on …

In case you didn’t know, I worship Diane von Furstenberg. She is beautiful, fearless, strong and her sense of style is impeccable. She also has the most fascinating life story and I love everything that she stands for  which centers around her goal to inspire confidence in women. Here are a few photos of DVF’s Paris apartment which were published last year in InStyle. When she found the place it had no floors, no doors, no plumbing and its only inhabitants were pigeons but despite these drawbacks, DVF saw potential and fell in love with its incredible veiws. Located on …
