Bespoke, hand-painted chinoiserie reproduction wallpapers from companies like de Gournay or Gracie are exquisite … and expensive! These wallpaper panels are very high end, can cost thousands of dollars and are typically only available through decorators. A while back I wrote a post on ways to get the de Gournay look for less and I learned that many of you were searching for affordable alternatives. I’ve you’ve been looking for ways to get this look at a more accessible price point, you’ll be pleased to know about my latest discovery which is the new V&A collection for Graham & Brown

Acrylic & Brass tray

Gah! It’s Cyber Monday! I have a love-hate relationship with days like today. On black Friday I vowed to not go shopping. I didn’t want to stress myself out in the crowds but then I went out to buy holiday gift wrap and some groceries and was seduced by store window signage. I ended up coming home home with bags full of stuff I love but didn’t need from Banana Republic, Mango and Zara. Today, sitting in front of a computer on Cyber Monday is totally tempting. Kind of like how a sugar addict must feel every time …

Inside Phillip Lim Studio-4

When people ask me who my favorite fashion designers are Phillip Lim is always on that list. HIs pieces are so beautiful and feminine but also a bit edgy and urban. I have a few Philip Lim pieces and I always feel like such a “cool girl” when I wear them. Fashion blogger Garance Dore recently posted a tour of Lim’s design studio and it’s just as chic as I would have expected. Although I am probably more known for my love of neo-traditional design, I totally appreciate a modern aesthetic and I’m absolutely smitten with Lim’s modernist studio, especially …

Hunt Slonem Wallpaper 2

Last month I attended the bi-annual High Point Market which is a huge trade show showcasing the latest products and trends in home decor. During my visit to the Kravet showroom I almost stopped dead in my tracks when I saw an installation of Hunt Slonem Bunnies wallpaper!!! In case you’re not familiar, Hunt Slonem is a contemporary neo-expressionist artist most known for his graphic paintings featuring the outlines of bunnies and parrots. He’s pretty famous and his works cost a pretty penny. A quick search on 1stDibs turns up results of his work currently on the market for as …

Claudette NYC7

Yesterday I ate lunch at the most adorable little restaurant in Greenwich Village called Claudette. I’d seen pictures of the space earlier in the summer and have actually been meaning to write about Claudette even before I dined there because it’s just so pretty! Claudette is a Provençal restaurant located just steps from Washington Square Park and is the sister restaurant to another NYC fave, Rosemary’s. The interiors were designed by Dekar Design who wanted the space to feel like a beautiful old world country house in Provence. The interiors are bright and airy featuring hand painted tiles, salvaged …
