I’ve been in LA for the past week and am heading back to NYC tomorrow. So in the spirit of LA I thought I’d share a few photos of designers Max and Lubov Azria’s stylish Los Angeles home which was recently published in the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar. This chic couple are the creative forces behind the fashion brands BCBG, Max Azria and Herve Leger. Their glamorous home, located in LA’s Holmby Hills, was decorated with the help of designer Aly Daly and features a primarily neutral color palette of steely grays and off whites, infused with pops of…
My colleague Kathleen’s amazing home was featured on Apartment Therapy earlier this week! Her home has an eclectic, bohemian feel and incorporates a wonderful mix of antique and flea market finds. I especially love her bathroom with the vintage chest of drawers turned vanity that she refreshed with white paint and bronze pulls from Restoration Hardware. Click here to read more about her place and to view the full house tour on Apartment Therapy. Congrats Kathleen!

Before last week’s Design on a Dime benefit I had an opportunity to chat with a few of the designers as they were setting up their vignettes and I also caught up with a few more designers at the opening reception. It was fun hearing about their inspiration, the resources they used in their designs and especially the creative stories they came up with to help guide their design process.

This year’s vignettes were filled with amazing pieces for sale and were also …

The best example of eco-friendly design that I’ve seen is the 2500 square foot, three-bedroom model apartment designed last year by Thom Filicia for the Riverhouse condominium building in New York City. The LEED certified Riverhouse is a luxury high-rise overlooking Battery Park and probably one of New York City’s “greenest” buildings. It has attracted high-profile buyers including Leonardo DiCaprio and Tyra Banks and in a clever marketing effort, the developers tapped Filicia to create a stylish model apartment that embodied the idea of luxury, eco-friendly living.

The entire apartment was designed using environmentally friendly, …
