My Favorite Scented Candles

I’m a huge home fragrance junkie. I have candles all around my apartment and there’s something about having my place constantly filled with delicious scents that’s totally comforting. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite candles that I’m burning at the moment including one scent that I can’t live without!

Brooklyn Bedroom Before & After

I always feel that bedrooms should be calming and serene and in the case of my #projectparkslope clients who have two small kids, I wanted to create a master bedroom that felt like a retreat from toddler central. The space has a beautiful white marble fireplace which inspired a very soft color scheme. The clients lived in an all gray apartment previously and were nervous about the idea of incorporating color into their home. Brooklyn Brownstone Project Reveal!

I spent a good chunk of last year working on a design project for the cutest family ever in Brooklyn. After living in a much smaller apartment in Tribeca for a number of years, the clients decided to decamp Manhattan for the much more residential neighborhood of Park Slope. They purchased a beautiful, landmarked Neo-Grec brownstone that was originally built in 1876 and the home features beautiful original detailing including mahogany millwork and the most stunning marble fireplaces throughout. Decor Porn: John Legend & Chrissy Teigen’s New York Apartment

I think John Legend & Chrissy Teigen are a the most insanely cute couple and I was excited to see them on a recent cover of Architectural Digest. (Yay for diversity!) While I’m typically not drawn to dark, moody spaces I absolutely loved their home. The one-bedroom apartment located in a neighborhood adjacent to New York’s Little Italy was designed by Desiderata Design in collaboration with the architecture firm Archi-Tectonics and features a palette of exposed brick, dark and rustic woods and lots of bronze accents for a touch of glamour.
