She may not be a huge star on this side of the pond but in her homeland of Sweden, model-turned-mega fashion blogger Elin Kling is a HUGE deal and lately I’ve become totally obsessed with her style! After modeling in Milan for a while, she started her popular blog Style by Kling which quickly gained a following made her well known for her edgy and effortless fashion sense. Then after competing on Let’s Dance 2010 – Sweden’s version of Dancing with the Stars – Kling really catapulted into fame and is now one a bonafide celebrity and pop culture icon …
Six years ago best friends Soraya Silchensted and Candice Pool became business partners when they teamed up to launch Finn – their line of delicate fine jewelry helmed by Soraya as the creative lead with Candice running the business operations. Above is photo of Soraya (right) and Candice (left) snapped at a charity gala by none other than Bill Cunningham for his column in the New York Times Sunday Styles section. Aside from the fact that Soraya and Candice look ridiculously chic, I think this photo perfectly captures everything that Finn epitomizes – beauty, youth, sophistication and subtle glamour.

Diane von Furstenberg has just launched a new collection of bedding and tabletop designs for the home and last week I made a special trip to Bloomingdale’s to join her as she unveiled the line to the press. I always love to see the synergy between fashion and home come to life and since Diane is truly one of my personal style icons, I was beyond excited to see what she had in store. To me Diane represents the epitome of a beautiful confident woman. She is glamorous, feminine, forever chic and her new Diane von Furstenberg Home collection is …
Pink Flame bedding from Jonathan Adler.
The twice yearly New York International Gift Fair is often a launching platform for many new home decor brands while for more established brands, it’s an opportunity to showcase their latest and greatest wares. My eyes were certainly peeled for all things new and cool at the this season’s Gift Fair and here’s my roundup of the new product introductions that I thought were exceptional:
JONATHAN ADLER
A perennial favorite, Jonathan Adler’s collections never disappoint. Among his wide array of products on display, I was particularly drawn to his new bedding introductions. A favorite …
One of the booths at the NYIGF that I was eager to check out was John Robshaw. I’m a huge fan of his ethnic block printed textiles and I especially love his bedding collections so imagine my delight when I approached his booth and found John himself making one of the display beds! A consummate perfectionist, John was re-making the bed because, as he says, “the quilt wasn’t laying quite right.” (I snapped a few photos of him in action so I could study his technique – He likes to stack his pillows, FYI!)
Robshaw’s booth showcased his bedding, …
Bright Moroccan inspired tunics set against a bold suzani backdrop at Roberta Roller Rabbit
I spent the past weekend checking out the latest products and trends at the New York International Gift Fair. I often hear people saying that the ikat/suzani/eclectic bohemian trend is “so over” but based on what I saw at the NYIGF I think it’s safe to say that these worldy prints and patterns are definitely here to stay. There were ikats, suzani and other ethnic inspired textiles and accessories in bold colors and patterns everywhere I turned – on pillows, blankets, furniture – you name …
