I always love examples of good retail design and right now I’m crushing over ready-to-wear and accessories designer Monika Chiang’s new SoHo boutique. The 1,250-square-foot space was designed by “Million Dollar Decorator” Mary McDonald and I’m loving those kelly green chairs, textured walls and glamorous brass accents. This past weekend I finally had a chance to sit down and read through interior designer Kishani Perera’s new book, Vintage Remix which I am absolutely loving! Growing up rummaging through yard sales, flea markets and thrift shops in search of the perfect piece, Kishani developed a knack for re-imagining vintage finds as well as a killer signature style that is colorful, eclectic and just plain cool. Even though it’s not quite summer yet, you may want to start getting excited for Fall because come October, interior designer and TV host Nate Berkus will be bringing his signature style to Target with the launch of his new home collection which hits stores October 21st. The 150 piece line will include bedding, bath, accessories, lighting, rugs, window treatments and more. I love these whimsical throw pillows which have a global and eclectic feel. The pillow on the left is from John Robshaw – one of my favorite textile designers.
