A major 90s trend that is totally making a comeback is embroidered patches and pins on everything! I’ve been seeing this everywhere and I’m especially loving this look on denim. I recently attended an event for AG Jeans & Harper’s Bazaar where I was able to pick out one of their fab denim jacket plus a ton of patches and pins and there were staff on-site to iron or sew on all of the patches for us. I chose this edgy denim jacket with a raw hem and decided to bring all of my pins and patches home so that I could DIY it myself and really take my time to place everything perfectly. I chose a bunch of feminist-inspired patches plus some cool iron-on letters that were inspired by Beyoncé and have dubbed this my “Girl Power Jacket!” It feels a little bit rebellious and I’m completely obsessed! I also love that taking a DIY approach allows you to totally showcase your personality and style. I styled this look with black jeans pus my favorite bright red sneakers and RayBan sunnies.
All of the patches I used were iron-on patches so you simply place your patches where you want them to go, apply heat from your iron with a thin t-shirt or cloth on top and iron over it for about 30 seconds or until the patch is firmly adhered. It’s the simplest DIY ever and mine turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself;-) Below are ways that you can buy or DIY this look…but in my opinion DIY is so much more fun! What do you think of this look…would you rock the trend?!
