LA based interior designer Mark D. Sikes who I’m lucky to call a friend is totally having a moment right now. His busy design firm features a roster of high-profile of clients like Hollywood film director Nancy Myers, he’s recently launched a line of furniture and accessories for Henredon, a rattan collection for Soane London, a fabric collection for Schumacher, a women’s fashion collection called MDS Stripes, a new book, Beautiful: All-American Decorating and Timeless Style and now he’s bringing his easy and elegant signature style to a new collection of beautiful wool dhurrie rugs for Merida Studio. So basically, he’s killing it! It’s no secret that Mark is obsessed with stripes so it’s fitting that his Merida collection, called California Stripes, features all striped patterns in eye pleasing colors that can be mixed, matched and layered to create a unique look in any interior. Mark was kind enough to gift me with one of the rugs from his collection and I chose the Montecito pattern in pink and ivory. It’s really livened up my living room for the spring season! Have a look at how I styled this rug in my home and you can see more of my favorite rugs from Mark’s new collection below.
