I’m a huge home fragrance junkie. I have candles all around my apartment and there’s something about having my place constantly filled with delicious scents that’s totally comforting. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite candles that I’m burning at the moment including one scent that I can’t live without!
I’ll admit, I was first drawn to this candle because of the pretty, scalloped glass container but the fragrance is what totally won me over. I love scents that are warm and exotic and this Baltic Amber candle from Voluspa features notes of amber, sandalwood and vanilla orchid. I also love that Voluspa’s candles are made responsibly with coconut wax and no parabens, sulfates or animal testing. Plus, the jar is so pretty you can totally reuse it for trinkets or flowers once the candle has burned down!
This same candle is also available in this larger 16oz jar that offers a much longer burn time. It also comes with an embossed metal lid that can be used to extinguish the flame and also helps keep the candle dust free.
And for another candle in a beautiful container, Agraria’s perfume candles come in a woven crystal glass with a silver-plated lid and feature the most heavenly fragrances. My favorite of the moment is Bitter Orange which has a spicy citrus scent with notes of clove and cypress.
If I could only burn one candle for the rest of my life it would be Le Labo’s Santal 26 which is has an exceptionally full bodied sandalwood scent that is warm, a little bit smoky and totally intoxicating with notes of cardamom, papyrus, virginia cedar and musk. The candles are made with soy wax, cotton wicks and are entirely vegan. They’re also made in the USA which I appreciate. Le Labo is a purveyor of fine, gourmand fragrances that are incredibly rich and robust and each of their candles are freshly hand made and the label is dated at the time the fragrance is created. The item can also be personalized so these make for a great gifts. With this level of attention to detail, Le Labo’s candles definitely aren’t cheap but if you love fine fragrance you’ll love this one!
Last but not least is a perrenial favorite – Diptique’s Baies candle. This scent is in the floral family with the aroma of rose petals and blackcurrant leaves. I’m sure you’ve seen this candle everywhere – it’s sort of the “it candle” if there was such a thing and is a favorite among tastemakers and fashion-insiders. Diptyque’s chic candles are also quite the luxury but their scents are divine and made in France which is where all the best fragrance ingredients come from.
Hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite candles. I’m always on the lookout for yummy new scents so if you have a favorite scent that you’d like to share I’d love to hear your recommendations!

You have hit my home decor g-spot (sorry for the crude reference). I just love great scents. My favorites are Diptique Figuer, R.Nichols (coast), Archipelago Currant (so sexy), Lafco (Library scent) and my all-time G.O.A.T that I have only found in one place in the US (which closed down 🙁 ) is Geodesis Figuer (it takes me to another place!). I won’t burn it that often, that is how treasured it is..I just close my eyes and smell it (weird, right?).
The next time you’re in LA you must visit Designer’s Views on La Brea and Santa Monica (if you haven’t already:-) They have the most amazing soy candles and my absolute all-time fave is called “Welcome Home.” I burn them so much that the aroma has become the natural scent of my home. When it comes to candles “Welcome Home” and Le Labo’s “Santal 26” are my forever faves.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Voluspa Baltic Amber.

Oh my goodness, me too! Lighting a candle just brings a sense of warmth into the space. I love floral scents and candles with fall inspiration, like pumpkins and cinnamon.

When you smell it…you get it!
I recently received Diptique’s Baies as a gift and it has scented up my space right out of the box and unlit. I am currently burning Henri Bendel’s Coconut Flower and love Kobo Candle in Orange Amber and Vanilla Citrus Zest.
Thank you! This was absolutely wonderful! I love learning about new scents!
Lately, I’ve liked Nest’s Moss & Mint and Caldrea’s Crimson Pear Ginger. I want to try some others from both of those brands!
You listed all of my faves! I also like Diptyque’s Feuille de Lavande . My most recent find is the Indian Rose candle from Rituals Cosmetics. It’s very affordable like Voluspa.
Have you tried My Country Story’s candles? http://www.etsy.com/shop/mycountrystory They’re strong and the American Lumberjack (leather, tobacco, amber and musk) smells heavenly!
Hi, I have been eyeing the Baltic Amber candle for quite some time, but am doubting, because every online store names a different kind of wax. How does the candle burn in comparison to the Diptique ones, for example? Does is create a full melt pool? Have you tried other Voluspa candles?
Thanks
