Since the election of Barack Obama as America’s next President, rumors have been swirling in the design community about who the Obamas were going to hire as decorator for their private quarters in the White House. Last week on the Peak of Chic, there was a lively discussion about whether or not it would be LA based designer to the stars Michael S. Smith. Well…the rumor mill has been put to rest as yesterday Domino broke the news on their website that Smith had indeed been tapped for the job. Among the names that were tossed around, Smith was definitely my first choice. He’s one of my favorite decorators and his work is definitely White House-worthy. He has impeccable taste and his rooms are classic, stately and visually interesting. He’s already begun working on the project and I can’t wait to see the end result. Congratulations Michael! I’m so happy that your beautiful designs will forever be a part of our country’s history!

I think he is the perfect choice to decorate the White House. He will breathe a fresh new air into it.
I wonder if we’ll get to see inside the white house after the decor is done? hope so!
